GOD

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:" Deuteronomy 6:4

The word echod does not mean an absolute oneness, but rather a unity of combining in some manner so as to form one from that which is more than one. The same Hebrew word 2:24 when it says man and woman would become one flesh.echod is used in Genesis

GOD IS A TRI-UNITY

Isaiah 48:12, 16 "Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last." "Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me."

All three parts of the Godhead were present at creation: God the Father spoke, God theSpirit hovered over the waters and God the Word, By the Word all things were created.

Answer this if you can:

Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? Yes - there it is in Proverbs 30:4. What is His name, and His Son’s name? Jehovah & Jesus

SATAN

1 Chronicles 21:1 "And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel."

HE IS A FALLEN ANGEL

Isaiah 14:12-17 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?"

Also Ezekiel 28:12-19

HE BRINGS TRAGEDY INTO THE LIVE OF HUMANS

Job 1:8-12 "And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD."

HE TEMPTS MAN TO SIN

Genesis 3:1-5 "Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

SIN

Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

A Person may think he has never sinned, but he is just fooling himself and denying God's Word, for it says:

Psalms 14:3 "They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Ecclesiastes 7:20 "For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

JUDGMENT

Ezekiel 18:4 "…the soul that sinneth, it shall die."

How many sins and how big of a sin do you have to commit to be judged by God? Only one! Adam and Eve committed only one sin, and they were driven from God's presence in the Garden of Eden.

Genesis 2:17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

"Genesis 3:6-24 "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."

Daniel 7:9-10 "I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened."

The Talmud (Berakhot 28:B) makes reference to Rabbi Yohanan Ben Zakkai 70 A.D. On his death bed he is quoted as saying, "There are two ways before me - one leading into Gan-Eden, Paradise, and the other into Gehenna: and I do not know in which one they are going to lead me - should not I cry?"

HEAVEN

Isaiah 64:4 "For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him."

Isaiah 35:10 "And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."

NO SICKNESS

Isaiah 35:5-6 "Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert."

NO TEARS OR DEATH

Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it."

A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH

Isaiah 65:17-25 "For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD."

HELL

Some people may think that Christians "invented" the place called Hell, but the Old Testament is filled with teachings about Hell.

Isaiah 30:33 "For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it."

Isaiah 66:24 "And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh."

Isaiah 14:9-17 "Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

Daniel 12:2 "And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt."

RESURRECTION

"Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God." Exodus 3:6 GOD IS NOT THE GOD OF THE DEAD, BUT THE GOD OF THE LIVING.

Some of the greatest men that ever lived, believed in the resurrection.

"For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: 26. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me." Job 19:25-27

"Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead." Isaiah 26:19

"And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." Dan. 12:2

WHERE WILL YOU BE?

ATONEMENT

Leviticus 17:11 "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."

Where can we find this blood for our atonement since the temple was destroyed and the sacrifices ceased in 70 A.D.?

According to God's plan, The Messiah would come and offer His blood as the atonement for our sins, and that there would be no further need for offerings.

Daniel 9:25-26 "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined."

Isaiah 53

"Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

John 5:39 "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

The thirteen principals of faith were formulated by Moses Maimonides in the 12th century and are popularly known in the Jewish community as "I Believe." These thirteen principals are basically accepted by those practicing traditional Judaism.

  1. Exalted and praised be the living God! He exists; his existence transcends time.
  2. He is one - there is no oneness like his; He is unknowable - his oneness is endless.
  3. He has no semblance - he is bodiless; beyond comparison in his holiness.
  4. He preceded all that was created; the first he is though he never began.
  5. He is the eternal Lord; every creature must declare his greatness and his kingship.
  6. His abundant prophecy he granted to the men of his choice and his glory.
  7. Never has there arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses beholding God's image
  8. The Torah of truth God gave to his people through his prophet, his own faithful servant.
  9. God will never replace, nor ever chang His eternal Law for any other law.
  10. He inspects, he knows all our secret thoughts; He foresees the end of things at their birth.
  11. He rewards the goldy man for his deeds; He repays the evil man for his evil.
  12. At time's end he will send our Messiah to save all who wait for his final help.
  13. God is his great mercy, will revive the dead; blessed be his glorious name forever.

ROAD TO SALVATION

Old Testament ISAIAH 6:3-5 "And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
